We are the light of the world.

Who We Are

Light Community Church is a multicultural church in Northern Virginia and beyond that unites all nations and generations with the love of Jesus. We exist so that every generation and every nation in our community can encounter Jesus, find belonging, and experience new life in Him. We are the light of the world.

Our Vision

Our vision is simple:  One Church, All Nations, All Generations, All Together in Christ.

How We Live Out Our Vision

Worship

We gather to lift up Jesus, center our lives on God’s Word, and create a space where people from every nation and generation can encounter His presence. Worship unites us. It reminds us that we are one family under one Savior.

Love

We build authentic relationships, care for one another, and show the love of Christ in practical ways. Love is our culture. We believe every person should feel seen, valued, and welcomed into God’s family.

Serve

We serve our neighbors, our city, and the nations God has brought to Northern Virginia. Service is our mission. We step into the broken places of our community with compassion, generosity, and the hope of Jesus.

Five Ways We Shine the Light

1. Sunday Gatherings

We create Christ-centered spaces where people can worship, hear God’s Word, and encounter Jesus together. Our gatherings are the heartbeat of our church and the place where all nations and generations unite.

2. Growth & Discipleship

We help people grow in their faith through Sunday classes, small groups, mentoring, and leadership development. We want every believer to take their next step toward spiritual maturity.

3. Outreach & Community Impact

We shine the light of Jesus beyond the walls of the church by serving our neighborhoods, meeting needs, and sharing the Gospel throughout Northern Virginia.

4. Leadership Development

We equip and empower leaders who will serve, teach, disciple, and help carry the mission forward. We believe every follower of Jesus has a calling and a purpose.

5. Digital Ministry

We use social media and online platforms as a digital mission field — reaching people where they are, telling stories of life change, and inviting our community into what God is doing.

Our Core Values

We put God first in everything we do. Matthew 22:37 — “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

We boldly share the hope of the gospel. Romans 1:16 — “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation…”

We help people grow in faith across every generation. Matthew 28:19–20 — “Go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

We create a culture of invitation—everyone is welcome. John 1:46 — “Philip said, ‘Come and see.’”

We grow stronger when we gather together in unity. Hebrews 10:25 — “Let us not neglect our meeting together… but encourage one another.”

We use our gifts to serve God and others. 1 Peter 4:10 — “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…”

We give with open hands to fuel God’s mission. 2 Corinthians 9:7 — “God loves a cheerful giver.”

We believe healthy churches reproduce. Through church planting and multisite campuses, we invest in future leaders and new locations so the gospel can reach more people and bring more life to every community. Acts 1:8 — “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.”

What We Believe

We believe in one God, eternal and almighty, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and offers eternal life to all who believe. John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, empowering us to live holy lives, guiding us into truth, and equipping us for service. John 14:26; Acts 1:8

We believe God created every human being—male and female—in His image, with dignity, value, and purpose (Genesis 1:26–27). Humanity is the crown of God’s creation, made to reflect His character and to live in relationship with Him and with one another.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, true and authoritative for faith and daily living. 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105

Baptism is a public declaration of faith — an outward expression of the inward change that happens when you follow Jesus. It represents new life, forgiveness, and the start of a fresh journey with Him. Colossians 2:12

The Lord’s Supper reminds us of Jesus’ sacrifice and love. When we take the bread and the cup, we remember His death, celebrate His resurrection, and look forward to His return. Luke 22:19

We believe prayer changes things. No matter what season you’re walking through, you’re not alone. Our team is committed to praying with you and for you, believing that God hears and answers. Philippians 4:6

We believe sin has broken our relationship with God, and only through Jesus can we be forgiven and restored. Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23

We believe bringing the light of Jesus into dark and hurting places is part of our calling as His church. We step toward the overlooked, we stand with the vulnerable, and we join God in restoring what is broken. Scripture shows God’s heart for the poor and oppressed, and we seek to reflect that heart wherever we find injustice. Isaiah 1:17; Luke 4:18–19

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received by faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by works. Ephesians 2:8–9; John 14:6

We believe that in Christ, believers are made new creations, fully forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and called to live out their true identity as sons and daughters of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 3:26–28; 1 Peter 2:9

We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, called to worship God, love one another, and make disciples of all nations. Ephesians 4:4–6; Matthew 28:19–20

We believe God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s love for His church. Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:31–32

We believe Jesus will return again to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new. Acts 1:11; Revelation 22:12
